HELP US RECOGNIZE CT HOCKEY COACHES WHO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUTH HOCKEY PLAYERS' LIVES!

Calling all CT Hockey Conference league players! Is your hockey coach special? Does he or she go the extra mile to impact your character and your life?

If your coach helps develop you as both an athlete and a person, we want to know! Nominate your coach for the inaugural CT Hockey "Impact Coach of the Year" Contest!

HOW TO ENTER:
There are two ways to nominate your coach or assistant coach! Email us either:
a written essay (500 words or less, hand-written or typed)
OR, a link to a video (2 minutes or less). (www.wetransfer.com is a free way to transfer video files)

Either way works, as long as you answer these questions:
What makes your coach special?
How does your coach develop you as an athlete and a person?
How does your coach go the extra mile to impact your life?
Please include in your email:
Player's name
Coach's name & role
CT Hockey Conference league program and team level (e.g. Enfield 10U A, Darien 12U B)
Parent's name
Parent's telephone number
Parent's email address

THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS FRIDAY, DECEMBER 28, 2018!

Nominated coaches may be featured on our website and social media sites! Finalists will be featured in a special episode this winter.

Please note:
Who is eligible to win? Coaches or assistant coaches of CT Hockey Conference league registered teams for the 2018-19 season.
Who can nominate a coach? A player on the coach's CHC team as referenced above.
What happens if I'm a finalist? Finalist entrants' parents and coaches will be contacted after December 28 in order to schedule a time to film a brief segment at either a team practice or game. In order to film this segment, we'll rely on you to help us interview the coach, the entrant player, and other players and parents! If we are unable to schedule a date to film in a timely fashion, a runner-up finalist will be chosen to advance instead.
How will winners be chosen? Finalists will be chosen by GottaLoveCTHockey staff. The winner will be the coach who receives the most votes in a public online survey.

EHA Special Precautions Influenza (Flu)

Effective immediately, ENFIELD HOCKEY ASSOCIATION, along with other area hockey organizations, is taking special precautions for the next few weeks because of an increase of influenza (flu) in the state of Connecticut. Although anyone can get the flu, it is most serious in the elderly, very young children, people with chronic illnesses (such as lung disease, cancer, heart disease, or diabetes), or those with weakened immune systems. Influenza spreads easily in discharges from the nose and throat, usually when an infected person coughs or sneezes.

We ask that you do the following to help us prevent further spread of flu among our families:

Do not attend practices or games if you know you are sick.  Wait to until you have been without a fever for at least 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication).

Frequent and thorough hand washing is a MUST. Wash your hands frequently using antibacterial soap or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

There is to be no sharing of water bottles during practices or games.

Players must bring their own water bottles to games and practices.

Gloves are to remain on at the end of the games on the handshake line.

Please be diligent in either washing/spraying/wiping down all hockey equipment (including sticks, bags, etc.).

If you or your players(s) experience flu-like symptoms or a fever please see your physician or pediatrician.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us to manage this situation and will let you know when the flu outbreak precautions are no longer necessary.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Enfield Hockey Association (EHA) is a volunteer-centric, nonprofit organization dedicated to the development, advancement, and enjoyment of youth hockey by our kids residing in the Northern Connecticut/Western Massachusetts area.

We, as an organization, strive to promote the game of hockey and ensure it is a fun and positive experience for all involved as we focus on enabling all the families participating in EHA to benefit from their experiences.

EHA is proud to collaborate with USA Hockey, the Connecticut Hockey Conference (CHC), and the Greater Springfield League (GSL).  In doing so, we embrace the core values that enable us to provide a safe, challenging and most importantly enjoyable hockey experience to our families.

EHA does not discriminate based on gender, race, national origin or religious affiliations.
