The EHA Booster Club Welcomes You
To The 2016-2017 Hockey Season!!

The EHA Booster Club is comprised of parent volunteers who are planning several fun and beneficial events for the families of EHA. We welcome all who are interested in helping and appreciate any time you can give.  We have purposely created positions for short time periods for busy families to still play an active role in EHA.

2016-2017 BOOSTER CLUB OFFICER, COORDINATOR
AND TEAM POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

 

Booster Club President  (July-Early May):  Missy Broxton

The Booster Club President along with the Booster Club shall provide beneficial and fun activities for the players AND families of the Enfield Hockey Association. These events include, but are not limited to family skates, annual coach's game, comedy night and charity events. The mission behind the Booster Club is to promote a family-friendly environment, where player's siblings, parents, grandparents and friends can all be a part of the Enfield Hockey experience. Timing of events is to be coordinated with EHA's President. Responsibilities also include holding monthly Booster Club Meetings, attending monthly EHA Board Meetings, appointing and supporting the officers and coordinators of the Booster Club and attaining and supporting Team Parents and Team Photographers for each program/team in the association. In addition, to have all events successfully promoted, the Booster Club President shall ensure all postings of Booster Events are submitted to EHA's Communications Coordinator, Ice Chips Coordinator and Team Parents/Fundraiser Contacts/Editors in a timely manner.

Note: The Booster Club President is appointed by the Booster Club during its' March Meeting. To ensure a smooth transition, the outgoing Booster Club President shall continue with his/her responsibilities, coordinating efforts with the newly appointed Booster Club President, through the Booster Club's May Meeting.

 

Treasurer, Officer (September-Early May):  Natalie Clark

The Booster Club Treasurer shall keep full and accurate accounts of all receipts and disbursements of the Booster Club and shall deposit all monies in the name and to the credit of the Booster Club in its’ designated bank account.  He/She shall communicate an up to date accounting with all Booster Club Members at the monthly Booster Club Meetings and a budget to Coordinators for their event(s).  In addition, he/she shall be responsible to collect the Booster Club Fees from EHA and all other monies payable to the Booster Club throughout the season.  He/She shall provide EHA's Vice President of Finance with necessary financial information to close out EHA's financials for the season/year.

  

Team and Player Formal Photo Coordinator &  (November): Elissa Fisher

The Team and Player Formal Photo Coordinator shall present an appropriate vendor to the Booster Club for approval in September.  Pictures day(s) are to be scheduled for every program (Learn to Skate/Play through Midgets and any recreational programs) during the month of November and on a practice evening where the majority of teams are scheduled to practice.   Players are to wear their Away (Maroon) Game Jersey on picture day. Photographer shall capture a picture of every player whether a picture package is ordered and provide a PSPA CD of all pictures taken. Booster would also appreciate; however, not mandatory a donation back to the Booster Club for picture sales.  To promote event(s), the Team and Player Photo Coordinator shall provide the Booster Club President/Vice Preseident and EHA's Communications Coordinator with an electronic flyer 30 days prior to event.  Any monies received from the event are to be given to the Booster Club Treasurer within 7 days of event with a detailed accounting of income and expenses, including copies of all receipts.

 

Family Skate Coordinator (November - December):  VACANT

A fun-filled annual event during December with activities planned for all EHA Families.  The Family Skate Coordinator shall offer free admission with a donation, the Yearbook Cover Contest, Chuck a Puck, Player Shoot Out and Raffles.  The Family Skate Coordinator shall also invite local mascots and Santa to skate with the families.  To promote the event, the Family Skate Coordinator shall provide the Booster Club Vice President and EHA's Communications Coordinator with an electronic flyer 60 days prior to event.  Any monies received from the event are to be given to the Booster Club Treasurer within 7 days of event with a detailed accounting of income and expenses, including copies of all receipts.

 

Coach's Game Coordinator (November - December): VACANT

The Coach's Game Coordinator shall plan alongside the Family Skate Coordinator this fun-filled annual event during December with activities planned for all EHA Families.  He/She shall recruit EHAs Game.  The Coach’s Game is held immediately following s Family Skate.  The Coach’s Game Coordinator shall present to The Booster, 1 week prior to event, 2 Team Rosters of at least 15 players per team.  To promote the event, the Coach's Game Coordinator shall provide the Booster Club President and EHA's Communications Coordinator with an electronic flyer 60 days prior to event.  Any monies received from this event are to be given to the Booster Club Treasurer within 7 days of event with a detailed accounting of income and expenses, including copies of all receipts.

 

Comedy Show Coordinator (December - February):  Cathy Partridge

Our annual Comedy Night was first planned to offer the parents of our association and their friends a fun night out after enduring 7 to 8 months of PURE HOCKEY. Our next intention is to continue the tradition of awarding a deserving high school senior The Booster Club Scholarship.  This event has helped fund many beneficial events for our players and to give back to the community. This one event makes most of what we do possible for our players and their families to enjoy!!

  

The Comedy Show Coordinator shall coordinate a date with Laugh Riot Productions and The Polish Home in Windsor Locks, CT for our Annual Comedy Night.  The Comedy Show Coordinator shall also track all tickets sales and coordinate with all Team Parents/Team Representatives tickets sales, team picture boards, donations, raffles and the Team SUPER Raffle.  To promote event(s), the Comedy Show Coordinator shall provide the Booster Club President/Vice President and EHA's Communications Coordinator with an electronic flyer 90 days prior to event.  Any monies received from such event(s) are to be given to the Booster Club Treasurer within 7 days of event with a detailed accounting of income and expenses, including copies of all receipts.

 

Yearbook Coordinator (December - February): Missy Broxton 

The Yearbook Coordinator shall publish s annual yearbook to celebrate the teams and association/booster events hosted during the season.  by January 31st.  The Yearbook Coordinator shall work alongside the Player Participation and Specialty Award Coordinator and each Team Photographers to ensure every player is accurately featured throughout the yearbook (ies candid photo section, etc).  Currently Booster is using Yearbook Solutions as their Yearbook Vendor.  To promote event(s), the Yearbook Coordinator shall provide the Booster Club Vice President and EHA's Communications Coordinator with an electronic flyer(s) 30 days prior to each event.  Any monies received from such event(s) are to be given to the Booster Club Treasurer within 7 days of event with a detailed accounting of income and expenses, including copies of all receipts.

 

Player Participation and Specialty Award Coordinator (January – February):

The Player Participation and Specialty Awards Coordinator shall offer a participation gift for every player in the association (LTS-Midgets).  He/She shall also collect player participation and award options with prices for Booster Members to choose from during any Booster Meeting prior to February’s.  This coordinator shall also offer to every coach and assistant coach the opportunity to nominate a player(s) for the Player Specialty Awards.  He/She shall give all booster members the nominations received anonymously (removing coach’s name) 48 hours prior to holding a silent vote during February’s Booster Meeting.  He/She shall also collect from the Head Coaches the players who received a Hat Trick, Play Maker or Shutout to be recognized in the yearbook.  The Player Participation and Specialty Award Coordinator shall work alongside the Yearbook Coordinator and Team Photographers to ensure every player is accurately featured throughout the yearbook (ies candid photo section, etc). He/She shall also inform the coaches how to order the patches through our CHC District Registrar.  To promote this event(s), the Player Participation and Specialty Award Coordinator shall contact every coach and assistant coach 30 days prior to submission due date with timely reminders.  Any monies received from such event(s) are to be given to the Booster Club Treasurer within 7 days of event with a detailed accounting of income and expenses, including copies of all receipts.

 

Scholarship Coordinator (April/Early May):  Valerie Breda

The Player and Senior Scholarship Coordinator shall offer a scholarship program to all players who participated during the season and are committed to EHA the following season.  He/She shall also offer our Senior Scholarship to participating high schools.  The Player and Senior Scholarship Coordinator shall collect all submissions and present them to the current year and following year Booster Club Members to hold a silent vote during Booster’s May Meeting.  To promote event(s), the Player and Senior Scholarship Coordinator shall provide the Booster Club President, EHA's Communications Coordinator and area high schools with an electronic flyer 30-60 days prior to event(s).  Any monies received from such event(s) are to be given to the Booster Club Treasurer within 7 days of event with a detailed accounting of income and expenses, including copies of all receipts.

 

TEAM PARENT, TEAM FUNDRAISER CONTACT, TEAM EDITOR
AND "HELPING HANDS" DESCRIPTIONS

 

TEAM PARENT (September-March)

  • Serve as a direct liaison between EHA Board, Booster Club and Team Families
  • Create a team climate where all families on the team are kept informed of all upcoming events
  • Promote interest in all association events on team and community levels
  • Responsible for distribution of all flyers and information provided by EHA Board and Booster
  • Responsible, with the support of the Head Coach, for the collection of additional team expenses, such as but not limited to tournaments, etc
  • Contribute Game Summary, Pictures and/or News & Information about the team to the Ice Chips Coordinator
  • Contribute Celebratory News about team to EHA's Communications Coordinator for EHA Website and Newspaper Postings (ie tournament wins, community events, etc.)

  •   Responsible for taking and/or gathering pictures throughout the season

  • Contribute Celebratory News about team to EHA's Communications Coordinator for EHA Website and Newspaper Postings (i.e. tournament wins, community events, etc.)
