Summer Skate-LTP and Mini Mite
Summer is a great time to spend in the rink whether its Learn to Skate or getting ready for the Mini Mite Season. Our Summer program is offered once a week on Fridays at 5:50. All skates are at Enfield Twin Rinks, 1 Prior Rd, Enfield, Ct
LEARN TO SKATE
The Learn to Skate program is designed for players with little to no skating experience. Players will learn basic skating skills (forward & backward skating, edges and turns) using fun, developmental drills with the goal of moving to the Enfield Hockey Association's Mini Mite Development hockey program.
MINI MITES
Mini Mites is for skaters that have had at least 1 session of a Learn to Skate program and are ready for the next step into hockey
Ages
Our summer program is open to skaters from 4 and up.
If you skater is new please sign up for the Learn to Skate Program.
If you have completed at least 1 session of Learn to Skate you can sign up for Mini Mites

1 session: $100 (Due at time of Registration)
Both Sessions: $175( $100 due at time of registration $75 charged on 8/1)
USA HOCKEY NUMBER
Every Skater is required to get a USA Hockey number each season. Please click below to get your 2024-25 Confirmation number. You will need this to complete your registration

WHAT EQUIPMENT IS NEEDED FOR LEARN TO SKATE?
This program requires Hockey skates, hockey helmet and cage, Neck guard and gloves(the do not need to be hockey gloves)
Once the skater is steady on the ice the will need a stick
All of this can be purchased at DK's(Store are the far end of Enfield Twin Rinks) or Dick's Sporting Goods.
WHAT EQUIPMENT IS NEEDED FOR MINI MITES?
Full Hockey Equipment is required, which is listed below:
- Skates: hockey skates, used are fine, make sure they are sharp. Skates can be sharpened at DKs hockey shop (attached to Enfield Twin Rinks). New skates are not sharp so be sure to have them sharpened after your purchase.
- Helmet: hockey helmets can be purchased at many different sporting good stores or at DKs hockey shop. It must have face cage or shield and fit firmly to the head.
- Gloves: hockey gloves can also be purchased at most sporting goods stores, mittens are also fine for little ones until they graduate off the walker, then hockey gloves are necessary once stick skills begin.
- Knee pads: hockey knee pads (shin guards) can be purchased at most sporting good stores, online or at DKs hockey shop
- Elbow pads: can be purchased at most sporting good stores, online or at DKs hockey shop
- Hockey pants: these provide padding for the backside! Can be purchased at most sporting good stores, online or at DKs hockey shop
- Chest/shoulder pads: can be purchased at most sporting good stores, online or at DKs hockey shop
- Neck guard: can be purchased at most sporting good stores, online or at DKs hockey shop
- Hockey socks/jersey: eventually (not immediately), your player will need to have socks and a jersey. These are lighter weight and allow for better ventilation once they really get moving.
